CabTek Talk about a project
Built in navy joinery, desk and storage fitted into a room by CabTek

Commercial and major projects

Three hundred rooms. One spec. One factory that answers the phone.

When cabinetry is measured in units rather than kitchens, the job stops being about design and starts being about consistency, schedule and what happens in year three. CabTek machines repeatable cabinetry to a single specification in Queanbeyan, and delivers it anywhere in Australia.

Project record

The order that started at eight units and finished at three hundred.

Workforce accommodation

Far North Queensland accommodation village

An accommodation operator had fitted their rooms with imported flat pack kitchens. Inside about six months the units had failed, and the operator was facing a second replacement bill on cabinetry that was supposed to last the life of the building.

They asked CabTek to price eight units. Then a hundred. Then three hundred. We machined the lot to one specification in Queanbeyan and shipped it north, flat packed and labelled so it could be installed room by room without a cabinet maker on site.

  • Why us: the imported units had already failed once

The maths on volume

The cheapest quote and the cheapest project are rarely the same project.

On a three hundred room site, cabinetry that fails at eighteen months does not cost you a cabinet. It costs you three hundred cabinets, the freight, the trades, and the rooms you could not let while the work was happening.

  • One specification, held. Every unit machined from the same program, so room 12 matches room 280.
  • Blum runners and hinges as standard. The part that fails first in a high turnover building is the hardware. We do not save money there.
  • Flat packed for remote delivery. Palletised and labelled by room, so freight costs less and site install does not need a cabinet maker.
  • Replacement parts from the same factory. A door damaged in year four is remade to the original program, not matched by eye.
  • An Australian factory you can ring. Not an agent, and not a container that left twelve weeks ago.

How a project runs

What we need from you, and what you get back.

01
Send the schedule. Room types, quantities, drawings or a sample unit. A rough count is enough to start.
02
We price and prototype. Itemised pricing per unit type, and a sample unit built to spec if you want to see it before you commit.
03
We schedule to your program. Production planned against your handover dates, in stages if the site needs it.
04
Delivered flat packed and labelled. By room or by stage, ready for install without specialist trades.

Project enquiry

Tell us the unit count and the deadline. We will tell you if we can hit it.

Volume work is quoted on spec, not on a price list. Send what you have, even if it is only a room count and a date, and you will get a straight answer from the people who would actually machine it.
